For reasons of safety, but also to ensure the endurability for people who want to tie in suspension, Kinbaku teaching is very much focused on the action of tying. I would not hide the fact that as a teacher, I place a great deal of emphasis on this aspect, to enable students to progress as safely as possible, and in good conditions for those who are tied up.

The counterpart to this is the perception of a very attentive and caring practice during the building action is that it is not as intense when it comes to the end of the session. If Kinbaku session begins before you take out your set and end long after you have put ropes away, untying is nonethelss an integral part of our sessions.
