Two-day workshop - Dancing the Rope
This workshop offers an exploration of shibari through the dynamics of movement.
Directly inspired by the research and style of Nicolas Arnoys (A-Nicolas, formerly Yoroi) and Sarura, this workshop offers an opportunity to explore more than just rope work and friction: it's about entering into a dance where the body becomes a partner in the connection. We will explore how each posture, each point of support, each anchoring influences the fluidity and power of movement.
Participants will discover how to use the body's natural levers, manage balance and imbalance, and transform constraints and spaces into a game of mobility. We will explore the nuances between stability and oscillation, how ropes extend gestures, and how they can support or redirect movement.
